I'm happy to introduce a new function on Project “Modelino” - script that allows to create word lists for movies in foreign languages using subtitle files. It's very easy to use: 1) you send a subtitle file to the site, 2) check encoding of the text, 3) choose phrases that you want to add to your vocabulary list, 4) choose words, that you want to remember, and enter their translation, 5) check the final version and send it to the site's database (click on the links to see screenshots). You can also watch the video lesson, where I explain how to use this function, how to search for subtitles in the Internet and how to add movies and subtitles to this site (30 MB). It's in Russian, but the site's menu is in English, so you'll be able to follow along. The length of the video is about 20 minutes, you can start watching from 4:00. As an example, here you will find vocabulary for the 1st episode of the Canadian French TV series "Les hauts et les bas de Sophie Paquin" (2006).

English phonetic converter - improve your pronunciation with free online tool for English learners

I am proud to present to you a new tool at Project "Modelino" - Automatic English Phonetic Transcription Converter. It took me almost a week to write the script, but I really like the result. The only inconvenience of it is that it works pretty slowly.

The author of 'Media Player For Foreign Languages Learners' has updated his program. Now it supports not only video files and encoding for most western languages, but audiobooks as well. Highly recommended.
